Violinist José Manuel Álvarez Losada and guitarist Pedro Mateo are both professors at the Conservatorio Superior de las Islas Baleares.

Throughout its artistic career, this duo has performed in various venues and festivals in Europe, Russia, and the United States.

Its repertoire includes works by composers of different nationalities and periods, from the Baroque to the present day, with a special focus on works by Spanish and Latin American composers such as Albéniz, Falla, Granados, Nin, Piazzolla, Rodrigo, and Sarasate, as well as contemporary composers such as Brotons, Brouwer, Del Puerto, García Abril, and Gasull.

 

In 2015, its first album was released for the Eudora label, featuring the world premiere recording of two sonatas by the Austrian composer Ferdinand Rebay. The CD was critically acclaimed and received, among other awards, the Opus d'Or award from the specialized magazine Opushd.
